Happy Birthday to me! And yup that makes me a Capricorn. Growing up I always wondered if I was more Capricorn or more Aquarius, because I was born in the evening on the "last day" of Capricorn. Like a few more hours into the night and I would have been an Aquarius. Now as I continue my Astrology journey I'm thinking theres a reason my little baby self was like, hey it's time and didn't wait another few hours.

So what's the overview of a Capricorn?

A Capricorn (Dec 22-19) is someone who provides structure, discipline, and the plans necessary for the attainment of worldly goals. Capricorn arrives in the bleak of Winter, Like Sagittarius is closing down the sunlight and Capricorn decides to roll in on the day with the least amount of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere, yuck!

But, let's think about that on the positive flip. Capricorn rolls in when enough is enough and get's us back on the right track and helps us manifest our potential. Now the Holidays might intertwine with that, but that's a different reason outside of Sagittarius handing off to Capricorn. Another blog! So, on Winter Solstice, Cap, a cardinal sign of the earth, initiates winter. It's territory. So being the bearer of the harshest times in the year, a Capricorn faces it head on. We bring responsibility, planning and cautiousness to keep the world alive. So, there's a reason I came to this world when I did. I needed to bring some Cap energy, face fears and not wait to be an Aquarius.

On a personal level, the reason I was born when I was born was because I needed to face fears and inhibitions from previous lives. This time around the sun I needed to learn more to continue to develop into the person I ultimately plan to be. More specifically, to push through frustration, suffering, obstacles, and inhibitions. To show the Universe that I really want to be the person I was designed to be. A lot of Capricorns are late bloomers. We have some life stuff to overcome, but because of that, when we're ready we appreciate those teachings of patience more. Cause heck yeah, I've been inpatient for so long in my life! When I was born, I chose a few aspects of my life. Like having children later in life. Check.

I chose to be born in the fifth house. This house rules creativity, love, romance, fun, sports, speculations, entertainment, theater, and children. It's the house of happiness. It's the house of my inner child. By choosing to come into this world, in this house, in Capricorn, on the 19th of January, in the evening, I chose to heal my inner child to be able to become the person I want to be. And if you've met a Capricorn, you know that is no easy task! We're all pretty flipping conservative and logical, always thinking ahead, easily shoving down the past. Shit, we even fall prey to overlooking all emotion to justify opportunity and aspirations. And when you're born in the darkest time of the year, you can get dark and pessimistic. But also because we're logical, we know tomorrow the sun is going to be out a little longer than the day before and Winter will come to an end and the seasons will change.

So while those darknesses are part of the human struggle, a Capricorn also has the strength and resilience to laugh in the face of fear. To learn to be patient and trust that this was all part of the plan. The good stuff. The bad stuff. If you don't have those how else do you know you're experiencing being a human?

And what's the takeaway here? Well I'll leave you with some "action items". Next time you meet a Capricorn:

  • Be punctual, know what you want to accomplish, and get down to business. Wishy washiness is annoying and tests our patience.

  • We don't trust anyone we know, and if we don't know you, you're going to have to show us some proof of who you are.

  • Capricorns love usefulness. If you can show us results, talents, ideas, we're probably going to get along great.

  • One word: Actions. If you haven't figured it out by the above bullet points yet, let me be Frank. You be Ima. Meaning, you, Ima back up my words with action. Ima show you my plans, Ima show you my dedication. Action.

  • While we all want to live in a fantasy world at times, A Cap knows it's a fantasy. So we might play along for a while, but we're also cautious. Eventually we'll lose interest and move back into the real world and you're on your own. We're not giving up our skin to save yours.

Hope you enjoyed my little rant on Capricorns. And because I'm working to be 10% happier this year, let me just bless that happiness today and say. Happy Birthday to me! It's okay to and perfectly normal for me to say it's my birthday. Because, who else is going to bring me happiness besides me!
